Plastics
Plastic packaging and single-use plastic items make up 60% of all litter in NSW. These items take thousands of years to decompose and in the process they are causing great harm to our natural environment and wildlife. The NSW Government has banned several problematic and unnecessary single-use plastic items and is now taking further action to reduce plastic in landfill and the environment.
Reports from the community can play an important role in investigating the supply of prohibited plastics.
Some plastic items are currently exempt from the bans.
