NSW waste and resource recovery infrastructure

The EPA acknowledges that a forward-thinking waste strategy is needed to provide long-term solutions to ensure NSW is prepared for the future.

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, including the EPA, is leading the development of a 20-year Waste Strategy.

An issues paper about the strategy and potential reform directions will be released towards the end of 2019, with a draft strategy to follow. This strategy will update current strategies and targets.

These phases will be accompanied by stakeholder engagement which will inform the final strategy.
