NSW blitzes litter targets
In exciting news for the environment, NSW has reduced its plastic litter in the environment by 45% - the equivalent of 2,000 buses filled with plastic rubbish. This means NSW has blitzed past the state’s target of 30% reduction on 2019 litter levels.
FOGO mandates and rollout
NSW has a statewide mandate for Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) recycling, to reduce food waste and stop food waste going to landfill.
Protection of the Environment Policy for Sustainable Construction
The EPA is partnering with Infrastructure NSW to develop a landmark Protection of the Environment Policy (PEP) for Sustainable Construction. The goal is to foster low-carbon design and construction and increase the use of recycled materials in NSW public infrastructure projects.
