Nominations extended to join the Upper Hunter Air Quality Advisory Committee

Community, environment and industry representatives now have until 10 February 2023 to nominate to join the Upper Hunter Air Quality Advisory Committee.

Fourteen positions are available on the Committee made up of industry, community and government representatives who will advise the EPA on issues relating the management of air quality in the Upper Hunter Valley, NSW.

The Committee will meet twice a year with the EPA and members are remunerated for their involvement.

EPA Director Metro Operations, David Gathercole, said Committee members play an important part in representing the interests of the Upper Hunter communities to the EPA and the NSW Minister for Environment.

“Since the Committee was established in 2010, we have seen continued improvement of air quality and environmental outcomes for the region, thanks to community, industry and government working together,” Mr Gathercole said.

“The EPA is looking for applications from people who can demonstrate strong links to their local communities, who can represent their community or local industries on air quality matters and share updates provided by the EPA back to the community.”

Successful applicants will be appointed to the committee for two years.
