Local Government Areas in which burning is prohibited
The draft proposal aims to amend Schedule 8 of the Clean Air Regulation
- to reflect changes to council boundaries that have resulted from the 2016 amalgamations of some councils under NSW local government reform
- where councils have requested, change their listings in Schedule 8 for areas in which open burning is prohibited in their local government areas.
These changes will make it clear to residents in local communities what controls on open burning apply to their properties and help councils and residents prepare for bushfires ahead of the next hazard reduction burning season.
