Summary

Licence number: 211
Title: Wet weather overflow abatement pollution reduction program to address noncompliance of the wet weather overflow limit
Start date: 06 Nov 2020

Licence Condition
The objective of the wet weather overflow abatement pollution reduction program (PRP) is to require investigations, works and activities to be undertaken to achieve and maintain compliance with the wet weather overflow limit required by condition L7.2 of the Shellharbour sewage treatment system (STS) licence.
By 30 June 2026, or before, the licensee must undertake all works and actions necessary to return the STS to compliance with the wet weather overflow limit of 45 overflows per 10 years as required by condition L7.2 of this licence.
The works and actions undertaken for stage 1 and stage 2 must be substantially consistent with the proposed works described in Sydney Water's letter "Reference: L7.2 Wet Weather Overflow Abatement - non-compliant sewage treatment systems" (dated 27 May 2020) or as agreed in writing with the EPA.
For the purposes of condition U1.2, the frequency of overflows for the reporting period is to be determined using the sewer system hydraulic model required by conditions at L7.1 with 10 year rainfall time series data.
By 2 December 2024, or before, the Licensee must submit a report to the EPA outlining the full extent of the stage 3 works and activities planned to be undertaken to achieve compliance with condition L7.2.
