L1.1 On 17 April 2019, a grease distribution block on 7.10 Shiploader developed a pin hole leak causing grease to release from the lubrication system, depositing on the shiploader deck, wharf infrastructure, ballast rock and potentially into the harbour. L1.1 On 28 February 2019, coal build up on the boom take up bend pully lagging was observed falling onto the maintenance pad and surrounding area from 7.10 Shiploader during loading of a vessel at the K7 Maintenance Pad. EPA to monitor future compliance with this condition 1
L1.1 Following washdown of 7.09 shiploader at the K5/K6 maintenance pad, a small area of coal spillage was hosed from the road adjacent to the maintenance pad into the site's water management system. During this process a plume was noticed in the harbour. EPA has written to licensee regarding non-compliance and relevant action 1
O3.2 On 31 January 2019, a significant amount of dust was observed coming from the KCT yard stockpiles during unloading of coal at Dump Station 4. The unloading process resumed following mitigation actions and dust was again generated during stacking. EPA to monitor future compliance with this condition 1
L1.1 On 17th November 2018, coal spillage was observed on 7.08 Shiploader boom following a blockage in the loading chute. After wash down to remove the coal build-up, spillage was noticed on the wharf area with a small amount of coal entering the harbour. Penalty Notice issued 1
L1.1 The fire suppression system on 7.10 Shiploader initiated due to a faulty heat sensor. This resulted in the contents of the deluge tank spraying onto the shiploader boom with a small quantity of process water entering the harbour EPA to monitor future compliance with this condition 1
