Licence Condition
By 20 April 2021, the licensee must engage a suitably qualified and experienced person/s to complete an Environmental Risk Assessment to assess the environmental performance and risks associated with the Light Organic Solvent Preservative (LOSP) Vacuum Pump.
The Environmental Risk Assessment must consider, but need not be limited to: 1. The identification of actual and potential risks to the environment associated with the: a) LOSP chemical storage, transport and use; and b) the operation of the LOSP Vacuum Pump. 2. Consideration of the impact of the identified risks on the environment including the actual and potential impacts on air and water quality. The impacts should be considered in terms of proximity to the environmental and sensitive receivers; 3. Evaluation of the risks; 4. Identification and discussion of the management procedures and mitigation strategies in place to manage emissions and potential emissions; 5. Assess the need for ongoing monitoring of pollutants, particularly pesticides and Volatile Organic Compounds, discharged from the LOSP Vacuum Pump; and 6. Where the need for ongoing monitoring is identified, nominate site specific concentration limits for pollutants, particularly pesticides and Volatile Organic Compounds, associated with discharges from the LOSP Vacuum Pump.
By 31 January 2022, the licensee must submit a copy if the Environmental Risk Assessment to the NSW EPA’s Manager Regulatory Operations – Regional South.
