Radiation control
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) administers the Radiation Control Act 1990 (amended in August 2002) and the Radiation Control Regulation 2003.
The EPA is part of the Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) formerly the Department of Environment and Conservation NSW. The Radiation Advisory Council (RAC) advises the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment on minimising dangers arising from radiation, the development of policy, and amendments to the Act and Regulation, as well as their administration. The RAC also provides advice to the EPA on issues relating to licensing, registration and accreditation.
