Which plant species do you need a licence for?

In Schedule 13 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act, you'll find the list of native plants that are protected in NSW. Some of these are also threatened species. Part 1 of the schedule lists the species whose parts (flowers and foliage) are harvested by the cut-flower industry. These species are regulated by the cut-flower industry management plan.

The species are divided into four groups in Part 1 of the schedule. These groups have different licensing, tagging and record-keeping requirements:

You can view Schedule 13 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act to see the lists of species in each group. The schedule is on the NSW Government online legislation site, and is reviewed regularly.
