Cut-flower industry management plan
The NPWS regulates the use of protected and threatened plants by the cut-flower industry, to:
- protect species diversity
- encourage ecologically sustainable harvests
- minimise impacts on natural ecosystems.
A 2002-2005 management plan is currently in place for the cut-flower industry, and the NPWS seeks to work cooperatively with the industry to put the plan into practice. You can download the plan below, together with various information sheets.
The NPWS also plans to set up a Cut-flower Industry Consultative Committee, which will have representatives from the cut-flower industry, including:
- industry associations
- key individual pickers, growers and wholesalers
- representatives from NSW Agriculture and the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney
