Systematic conservation planning
This research aims to improve methods for identifying priority conservation areas in five ways:
- investigation of the strengths and limitations of existing biodiversity data sets
- assessment of the effectiveness of established conservation areas
- development of improved selection techniques and software systems
- application of techniques and software to real-world conservation planning in New South Wales, other Australian states, and international projects
- development of strategic approaches for day-to-day implementation of conservation action on the ground.
