Protecting our national parks from pests and weeds
May 2007
Weeds and pest animals occur in all Australian landscapes, both within and outside national parks. Although the NPWS can contain the impacts of these pests within acceptable limits, their total eradication is not achievable, and the need for management will continue into the future. The NPWS is investing over $18 million in managing weeds such as bitou bush and pest animals such as foxes and wild dogs.
Protecting our national parks from pests and weeds examines the performance of the NPWS on managing pest and weeds within NSW parks, provides case studies that outline successful approaches and outlines future directions for pest and weed management within NSW parks.
