Pest management strategy for the Far South Coast

September 2003

This pest management strategy establishes the strategic direction for future pest management activities within the NPWS Far South Coast Region over the period 2002-2006.

The Far South Coast Region stretches from the Victorian border to north of Braidwood and inland to Bombala. It covers an area of approximately 13,500 square kilometres, and encompasses much of the southern escarpment and coastal plain. The region's parks and reserves cover more than 440,000 hectares.

The aim of this strategy is to maximise the effectiveness of pest control programs. It identifies the major pest species within the region, and establishes criteria for prioritising control programs. The strategy provides a brief summary of control programs to be undertaken.
