Healthy Environment, Healthy Community, Healthy Business
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has responsibilities and powers under a range of NSW environmental legislation.
2010 ended as a year of significant reforms and major milestones to improve environmental regulation, management and conservation for years to come. New laws were introduced to manage coastal erosion and improve energy efficiency in the commercial building sector. An increased funding package for fire prevention and management was announced. Seven million hectares of land in our national parks and reserve system was protected, and NSW programs helped 'green' more than 300,000 homes.
