BioBanking Threatened Species Profile Database

The BioBanking Threatened Species Profile Database (TSPD) contains information for all listed threatened species, populations and communities such as their habitat characteristics, range, response to management actions, life history strategies, survey requirements, and ability to withstand loss in numbers and extent.

This information is used in the methodology to determine the likely presence of threatened species at a site and calculate ecosystem or species credits based on its predicted response to improved management of biodiversity values at the site. The credit calculator contains data from the TSPD

The BioBanking TSPD consists of three biodiversity databases used in the assessment methodology.

Threatened Species by CMA Sub-region

This database identifies the distribution of threatened species by Catchment Management Authority (CMA) sub-region. Download database

Threatened Species by Vegetation Types

This database identifies the vegetation types associated with each threatened species in each CMA. Download database

Threatened Species Characteristics by CMA

Developed by DECC, this database lists a range of information for each threatened species that is used to predict the likely presence of a species and its association with the site attributes, and determine its response to management actions. Download database (ThsppcharaCMA.xls, 1.53MB)

DECC has also prepared an information sheet on the BioBanking TSPD with an emphasis on the third component.
